Much like today where CAD generated sedan bodies are so similar that brand recognition is based on grills and light group design, the pre and post war production bodies where affordable vehicles had similar shapes. To identify and add esthetics to the vehicles, very ornate and sculptural grills and bumpers were employed to dress up the generic bodies. Even GM's entry level Chevrolet was graced with a a most recognizable face with the Deluxe model was also graced with special painted chromed trim and, for this model, matching red piping on the convertible top. Danbury Mints 1941 Chevrolet Deluxe is a beautiful example of the esthetic package that separated this car from its GM siblings.
Danbury Mint fully sculpted and detailed the underside of the sift top. Was the top equipped with a dome light?
A gorgeous model, DM were sure on top of their game back in this era of production.
Have it and love it. And yes, Danbury Mint was on fire with their authentic replications of our favorite cars. Almost daily I still ask "Why did it have to go away?". We were lifted up so high by DM and the other mints and then DROPPED! We were forced to recover cold turkey.

It is a beautiful model. Thanks Rich. I truly do enjoy these.
my very first DM bought from Roy Rauch in I think 2001. And did that start something!
