Always wanted to take the 56 convertible to a body shop to see if they could make the fender it a bit better.
This pic is a perfect example of why continental kits should be outlawed. You don't mess with perfection.
On this we agree! Though it's only my opinion, I've always believed that most continental kits are put on cars by their owners to "get attention" to their car. I know to each their own rules, but I'm firm on this belief.
Cars in their original "off the assembly line" form should (again, my opinion) NEVER be disfigured with add-on gadgets and gizzmo's that feed in to someone's ego "to be different" and "get attention".
Yesterday I attended an old car show near my home, and there were at least a dozen cars that were so messed up, it was nearly impossible to even guess what they were in their original life. I stopped and stared at one car that I think might have been a Cadillac, but I couldn't tell. The owner says to me, "So what 'ya think?". I didn't respond with anything but a look on my face that I hope he read me saying, "You're an idiot!, as I walked away.
And I know to some here that may seem that I'm rude, but I just can't give them the satisfaction of (what I believe) they yearn for.

Weird but I cant find my DM 56! 😫 Hidden amongst my empty boxes somewhere. Would love to have a go at removing the connie kit on it. Look great Geno
@geoff-jowett Thanks all, Geoff, it's one of the easier ones to remove. Go for it. I can help you along with it if you decide you want to try it.👍💯
That black and white ‘55 has been in my collection for decades, I added the DM ‘56 hardtop as soon as it was available too.
love them both!

@david-vandermeer I'd love to have one of those '56 hardtop. They just got too pricey for me.😟

I was looking around in one of the antique stores in town. The owners husband had been a diecast and plastic model collector. I had bought a few model kits from her in the past. This time I saw on the shelf an orange and white 1956 Ford diecast. Just the car no box or papers. It went home with me for $40.00.
@grockwood OMG Gary. I'd love to find one like that. I dont care whether it has a box or not. I'm not displaying the box, lol. What a great catch.💯👍
