All. As I am unpacking cars that have been stored away for years, I was excited to open the above brand new in box Edsel only to find that the Hood had diecast rot and was all distorted. When I went to open the hood the passenger side corner near the window broke off and then the 2 pins that hold it in snapped as well. So now I am looking for a donor car that I can steal the hood and get someone to repaint it for me. Any suggestions on 1. Would some just have hood that they could part with? 2. Who could I find to do the color match?
Any help would be appreciated.
@carsman1958 On the color matching question, you can 1) contact a local model car club to find someone who does freelance work on the side 2) visit your local hobby shop that carries plastic models and ask the same question 3) go to an automotive body shop and see if they can help you. Lastly, replacing the whole car might be easier and more cost effective. Good luck!
Hi John,
I have an Edsel parts car, and I know someone who could repaint the hood for you. If you shoot me an email through my website (I don't like putting my direct email on the web in forums), I can help you out. My website is richfaber.com. Looking forward to hearing from you.
Best,
Rich
