A rather ancient model by now, this 1907 Rolls Royce Silver Ghost was really well done for the time. There suspension components with mold flash that weren't chased but hardly noticeable. This early horseless carriage design has a unique 'two step' windscreen that has the vertical element closer to the driver for better visibility especially in inclimate weather. The model was advertised like crazy in various periodicals like Sunday supplements and as a sales success, it led to a line up of Brass Era models as well as Rolls Royce models.
Great images Rich. This was my first Franklin Mint model. I still have it on display in its original showcase.
You're going right down my watch list, RS, and I'm negotiating a price on one, at this time. I want one with OVP, so it will travel better. I cannot imagine in what condition this model would arrive if packed without the original materials.
wow memories! Firstly Rich your pics make a 40 year old 1/24 look like a recent CMC 1/18! My second 1/24 diecast bought direct from FM Australia in 1987, after the Mercedes 500K. Couldn't wait to get it, still love it, sitting happily in my brass era display case. There's masses of info on AX201, just google it if interested, it even has its own website: https://www.ax201.com/
