I was very happy that FM decided to model the Bugatti Type 35. It's a historical icon that needed representation. Introduced in 1924 with what became Bugatti's signature arched radiator shell, it and its variants won over a thousand races during the '20s. Its little 2.0 liter straight 8 produced 90hp at an amazing 6000 rpm. FM put an amazing amount of detail in this model for the time. They did a great job replicating the machine turned finish on the dash, engine and firewall. One detail that really tickled me (that I discovered much later) was the removable seat cushion that bared the drivetrain as well as the spring loaded metal seat supports. This tiny little model is just apiece of automotive jewelry.

Looks like a great model, at the time this was issued, it was outside my interests, so I passed. Love the color.

Nice model. Love the removing seat. It is interesting to compare it to the Monogram 1/24 plastic version that I showed here a few days ago. Wish that I had both. Thanks Rich.

@david-green WOW!!! I missed your posting of that 'B' variant. I just looked it up. Very nice. I used to do all the Monogram hot rod models back in the day having a ball with all those customizing decals. I don't remember the Bugatti but I was probably totally ignorant about it and its history.

As Tina would say "simply the best"! In my view anyway, FMs best. Thanks Rich.
