If you made the Forbe's Richest List and you didn't want to squeeze into a Mercedes 300 SL roadster, or, god forbid, a gull-wing coupe, you'd have to part with $14,500 for this 300 SC cabriolet (W188). That was twice the price of the top of the line Cadillac. The "Eizspritzmotor" label that came with the car merely meant that the 3.0 liter 6 was fuel injected. That got you a decent 175 HP and the ability to cruise the Autobahn at up to 115 mph. But you did it in style. The wood trim with sumptuous leather interior offered all the amenities available including a Blaupunkt radio. Between 1955 and 1958, only 200 300SCs were built with only 53 in roadster form. Price of one today in good condition? a half mil. Franklin Mint. The first run of the burgundy/maroon was released in 1995 so it is older tech. This numbered LE of 2500 was released years later. Somehow I got the very low number of 0009 of 2500 for whatever that means
