I guess both of us were jonesing for a fairly precision Bugatti. I went the other way in the attempt to make a silk purse from a sow's ear. I tried to detail the Bburago by wiring the engine. redoing the faux wood dash, adding butrate "glass" to the gauges and upholstering the seats. I still needed to replace the wire wheels and over wide tires.... and then the clouds parted, the sun came out, and there was the 1/18 CMC to make my dreams come true.
Hey Rich, I must have missed this old post. I love your detailed Burago's. I was planning how to merge a Burago Atlantic body with FM Altante chassis until I accepted the 1:18 alternative. The Atlantic is a charismatic car ... and thank you CMC! I have both black and blue 1:18 cars. I do want it though in 1:24, and maybe my wish is getting granted soon ...
Agree, and many other things are not right but it is a very old Burago, it was practically a toy, goal was resemblance, not accuracy. Proportions are pretty good though.
