Franklin Mint 03 Corvette 50th Conv
I just bought an FM 2003 Corvette 50th Anniversary convertible on eBay. It's a nice piece but I noticed a line all the way across the top of the windshield. Looks like a defect in the plastic. Thinking there may be a reason for it like better decal adhesion for the Indy pace car edition (just a guess). I have several Franklin Mint models including a 2004 Corvette Commemorative convertible which doesn't have the line. I'm surprised to see this on an FM model. Can anyone tell me if this line is on all 03 FM Corvette 50th convertibles or did I buy a defective unit?

Found My Answer
The pics in Tony Perrone's review show the same line and I looked at another one on eBay so it looks like they all have it. Still would be interesting to know why it's there.

It is simulated windshield header tinting. It was first seen...
...on Franklin Mint's first C5 Corvette, the 1997 and chronicled it the review. It has appeared in each subsequent C5 issue.

Interesting. It's not on my FM 04 conv. I see it now on the '97 but none of the other Corvettes. Thanks!

I noticed it first on the '99 blue hardtop I bought.
I was actually kind of peeved but then came to realize it was there on purpose. Annoying.......

I have the FM 1997 Black Discontinued Corvette........
This is as per Tony's P's review of the model. "The rear defroster wires stand out on the rear window and the proper tinting actually shows up on the windshield header"

Air Intake Hose
I just noticed that my car doesn't have the engine air intake hose. There's a place for it but it's not there. My 04 has it. Can anyone tell me if this was an omission by FM on this model? Thanks!
