I was always in love with those Ford GT 40s, both the Mkll and the MklV. Those head-to=head races against the equally beautiful Ferrari 330P4 were thrilling especially when Ford beat the Ferraris soundly. I thought the blue and orange Gulf livery on the #6 (and #9) Jackie Ickx '69 LeMans winner looked so cool. I searched seemingly forever for a decent model of this car. 28 years ago, I finally got my wish from the Revell Creative Masters diecast series and they were so ahead of their time with such precision builds. I didn't mind the 1/20 scale as I filled one shelf with their line up. It was many years later that Exoto offered a precision 1/18 scale series, but I still love those Creative Masters models.
I have a 1/24 built model, not perfect but displays well.
I remember now, I bought it built but needed detailing. Almost all of the hood fasteners were scratch built. The engine cover opens but it is not hinged and the detail is limited.

Do you remember who made the original kit? It looks like it could have been a Fujimi, but they do provide a PE tree for the hardware at least in the few kits I bought for kitbashing purposes. .

I don't know what kit was used, I bought it built and it is not marked on the chassis. However, it is a resin model so unlikely Fujimi.
Theres also a 1/24 Hachette et al version around too. Getting a bit hard to find now. This is not mine. I'm happy with my Wix version.
What I love about the Hachette models is that they get the shapes right most of the time. They probably scan cars (or other models) with 3D scanners, but they are right on the money.
