nice kit but no engine 😫. Had some issues applying BMF, trouble sticking and then trimmed pieces crumbled during removal, so used chrome pen. I've become pretty keen on 60s and 70s Cadillacs, would love to find more kits. Was able to match the exterior color well, but my interior is a bit 'lemoney'.
Geoff, your Cadillac build looks great and the color is perfect! After seeing it, I dug through my old 1/25 models and found this JoHan 1967 Coupe DeVille promo which I've had since new. It's pretty plain without the trim foiled. I may play with that one day. It looks like I painted some trim silver back then.
Both these cars look terrific! Geoff, the car came out really nice - love the color!
Geoff, the color is terrific and perfect for the model.
Geoff, I thought you did a fantastic job on the Cadillac. I too love the color.
What John said! I don't see the lack of an engine as being a liability. All of my models are displayed with the hoods closed.Geoff, I thought you did a fantastic job on the Cadillac. I too love the color.

She looks classy Geoff. I have plenty of curbside models. It's not an issue for me either. I don't display my models with anything open. I like that '67 also.💯😊
Pete, going thru all the promos that were available at Woolworth's and K-Mart were the highlight of my weekend...well, in addition to Saturday morning cartoons ! I too would use silver paint. Steve
thank you gentlemen, I'm pleased with the outcome, just wish I'd got the BMF to work.
Pete that 67 looks fantastic, the sort of model I'm looking for. When searching for them under 1/24, 1/25 kits a heap of completed promos like yours came up, but very few actual unmade kits. So Steve there are plenty still available.
thanks again gents!
Steve, my go to place for friction/promos back in the ‘60’s was Sav-On Drug store. I remember the wall of models, stacked one above the other in multiple colors and makes shining thru the cellophane window boxes, each at the discounted price of $1.79! Surely you remember the Sav-On jingle!
Geoff, there’s a Canadian seller on eBay selling 3-D printed kits. I don’t know how much work is involved in building one of these “kits”, but it may be worth a look. 1970 Feetwood Brougham.
@pete-rovero thanks Pete, I have seen those. Incomplete kits I've seen show everything in the raw resin state. No chrome, clear windows etc. Might be a bit beyond my skill set!
I don't remember any Sav-On's where I grew up in the small towns / cities surrounding Buffalo, New York. I did move from NY to CA in '67 when I was 14. I was still into building model kits even at that age. I think it was TG&Y that I would shop at in Garden Grove. I also remember White Front and Zody's. Twin Fair & K-Mart were other great stores around Buffalo. Years ago I found Prestige Hobbies off of Beach boulevard in the Buena Park / Stanton area. I felt like I died and gone to heaven with all the models that they had in all the different scales and a lot of models were being sold on commission from private collections. I know there's a place in Montclair called Pegasus hobbies but I haven't been there in a long time. I've learned about it from Marty.
