1961 FM White Lincoln at the 1996 Pebble Beach Concours because it looked like my Dad's 1/1 car!

Tony, The Packard was amongst the first cars probably 4 or 5.

I did not buy the Benz, waited to get the yellow 36 from Vanbo.

FM black Auburn Speedster then the green 1907 Rolls which knocked my socks off and really set the hook. Now have almost all the FM oldies, and appreciate them more and more even as DM keeps raising the diecast bar with each new release.
Cheers and Happy Collecting,
Steve

DM '48 Chrysler Town and Country

Still a favorite and a stunning model. Then I bought a half dozen cars from an artist friend - no boxes etc. but that's what got me hooked on 'em. FM Garbo Duesenberg, FM Alvis, DM blue Skylark, DM '55 Ford Crown Vic (black/white), FM MG TC (red), FM '49 Cad (two tone blue).

Since then, as Clarke would say, things have gotten TOTALLY out of control, but it sure is fun!

I agree, Steve, part of the charm of FM's' & DM's old models is that they weren't perfect. Sealed trunks, convertibles w/o tops weren't uncommon, yet many people were probably pretty happy with their models until exposed to the net.

My first FM and DM cars

Roger Pratt, My first two cars were exactly the same as yours...the FM 07 Rolls Royce and the DM 57 Chevy convertible in blue with the sealed trunk. I may not be accurate about this but I thought I got the FM car in 1985 and the DM car in 1987...in either event, I have every car I have ever bought and have no intentions of ever selling any of them.

I have 50 of them. 6 got away, actually I didn't buy them they are: ( assuming the count to be correct, 56, as I did not count totals, just cars I did not have)
89 Ferrari F 40
61 Lincoln (Don't have even one of the editions)
35 Mercedes Benz 500K
Petty Superbird
49 Roadmaster Riviera ( I have the yellow convertible)
Stutz Black Hawk ( Red )
I just bought the Good Humor 53 Chevy Truck
Like Bob Jackman I don't plan on selling any of them! The above 6 just did not get me so I passed.
