Hope John Merritt is ok. No postings for a couple days now.
I always look forward to his daily pics first thing. I suppose he is entitled to take a break!
This site is growing long in the tooth. Dick Browne was very disrespectful of John so I don't see his absence a surprise. All John did was comment about a Neo car (Red Cord Beverly Sedan, I Looked it up) that he was going to buy when Dick Browne told him in no uncertain Post circumstances to NOT POST A Picture (POST # 20734 3.1 on the 1/43rd Forum) because it might compete with Legacy or Mint Models? Maybe because it was not a stock RED color? Who Knows Dick Browne's villification, I can't see it being John Merritt or his photography. John was just sharing his excitement at being able to buy a certain image which is now available at a reasonable price. I don't blame John for how he may feel, he has been a colossal producer of some very fine photography (I believe he was the AUTOART Picture Contest Winner a while back) which I looked forward to each & EVERY day and in the absence of much 1/24th his contribution have kept me still interested. Rah, Rah, John for all your work and picture taking for all of us too bad there are those who don't posses the talent to do what you do handily (I know it's a lot of work but you accompolish it much easier than I). I still appreciate your talent as do many others of us. I have lost interest due to all of the bickering which is unnecessary. I have accidentally crossed (Just being funny which he took wrong) Dick to be scolded of my opinion so why bother to post when he's going to blast you or look down his nose at you because you are not as smart or worldly as he. That is my two cents worth. I am a big supporter of Michelle & the new acquisition of legacy but this feud isn't doing anybody any good.
Wow, I've heard over the years he runs a tight ship over there, ruled with an iron fist
Many of fine collectors have been run off this site over the years. This one stings because John contributes alot and is always a true gentleman. If I were him I would never go back to that forum, maybe they need a new moderator over there
John did comment......
That he was going to back away for a few days. Let's hope
he returns, we ALL appreciate his work, look forward to
it. All the best John!
Sad,,,very troubled.
I deleted my earlier far more harsh reply in this matter but I remain troubled that a inappropriate post was made, and worse, by a moderator. In the many years I have been on D4C this has happened far too often, but I cant recall one other instance it was by a moderator. This is a hobby, and there is simply no place for this.
While I enjoy posting photos of my die-cast and plastic, and even though this issue was on a different forum, its hurts us all. My continued participation on D4C remains in question. In business, this moderators post would be a private personnel matter. I expect the same with D4C. I do hope the D4C powers have contacted said moderator and If anything, said moderator should be on a tight leash by D4C and any re-occurrence be dealt with harshly.
I absolutly agree Paul. I really do enjoy Johns work. It is WORK at times!
Correct Mike, So the meer mention of a Neo Car brings the wrath? I see John the perfect Gentleman, he dropped it . No where after or in Dick's apology did Dick invite him back to post any pictures. I have said enough so I will drop it here too.
Mike I do enjoy your pictures too, Thank You for the time and energy to share them with us. Be them stock or otherwise all are enjoyed. John and you can take a "Break" at anytime you would chose, not because you are remanded to, just because you need some time. We agree on this point.
