I think FM's '50 GMC pickup was better proportioned than DM's '53 Chevy (PICS)

As much as I still like DM's '53 Chevy pickup, and I do prefer short wheelbase pickups, I've always been put-off by its badly proportioned, too tall windshield. Generally, DM's vehicles were a bit better than those from FM but this was one of the exceptions. Franklin Mint may have been late to the game of '50s era pickups, but they got the cab better proportined on their '50 GMC.
I've even grown to like the GMC's long wheelbase choice simply because they dared to be different.

Well, I never noticed that before, but after your post I went looking at photos of Chevy PUs and yes sir, DMs are too tall. They are such excellent pickups, especially the '53 GMC.
I do love the FMs '50 GMC pickup too. I wish they had expanded their offerings instead of just the Christmas trucks.
