[Closed] I want to say it’s been well over a year now since Michelle mentioned Esval doing 1:24 resin models

Fair question Phil.

There was a lot of excitement when the project was announced, yet, as you say, nothing since the Esval Cadillac, which is an outstanding model.

Glad I'm not the only one who's curious. Esval must've got 'cold feet'.

I posted a reply below to Mark's similar question few days ago, but not sure if anybody saw it.
Besides what's in that link, I haven't heard anything else. Also Automodello's Delahaye is due any time now, it was supposed to available in April but the pandemic slowed down everything.
I understand both models are not good news for many of you, I personally will be happy to have them both.

A 1928 car wasn't a good way to start the project. Something from the 50s/60s would've been better.

I agree Barry! While I love Vintage Cadillacs, brass Era cars and the teens, 20s and 30s THAT is...

Not what the majority of collectors want or care about! I even think some luxobarges from the Malise period might do better then the 1930s. Say a 77-9 Town Car, Mark IV, 75-78 New Yorker, mid 1979s Cadillacs etc. a lot more people alive whom can relate to those cars! OR the safe bet.... muscle cars

I was pointing to the possible 1929 Cord L-29 from Esval

Mint Models have not announced anything, but they partnered for the Cadillac or at least this is how it was presented. So hopes were that Esval will do more 1/24, perhaps Esval announced Cord L-29. So ultimately nothing what many collectors here are hoping for. For the Al Capone Cadillac, it is obviously that it was Esval decision, not Mint Models decision. I think it was more of promises from Esval than actions, hence nothing is in the make.... except Cord L-29 that I personally would welcome.

I think MintModels was promised more than it could be delivered.

Keep in mind Esval probably doesn't pay licenses in US (or anywhere), so they may be staying away form more modern cars. Also Esval would make something from their researched cars, aka developed already in 1/43. Look in their line up and see if there is anything attractive anyway. 95% of their models are pre-war cars or brands that no longer exist. The only American cars from the fifties I saw were Chevy 1956 and Kaiser. I think we got false hopes for more 1/24, I hope I am wrong. The pandemic only made the things worse.

Did you buy yours “new”?? What was the original cost on it?

No, I started collecting around 2012-13, so they ...

were all purchased on the secondary market. I am saying "they" because I have several! They were purchased between $70 and $125. These Cords have issues, paint rash and broken mirrors being the most common issues, so it may be hard to get a good sample. They also depreciated a lot... DM made too many.

I work in healthcare. This damned Pandemic has screwed up the world!

Hi just checked EBay. There are 15 right now some as low as $50! I guess I got a good one. Mines complete, no missing parts and paint had very minor rash on a few panels that I was able to buff out to 95% perfection.
