I was cycling yesterday and .....
While riding parallel to the Belt Parkway (it was backed up as usual), a 1983 Lincoln Mark VI Coupe was riding by. It was midnight Metallic blue, same color vinyl roof and had the Turbine Lincoln Mags. It was in MINT condition and looked so elegant riding down the road. I was never crazy about the Mark VI and always thought it needed the right color combo to look good. Well this was a great color for this car! It really stood out. What got me is that it has a presense without being HUGE. I know they downsized from the Mark V quite a bit so....
I always loved the Mark VI too. It was a shortened Mark V.
Phil, are you a road cyclist? Me too! This year's big accomplishment was the one-day Seattle-to-Portland ride -- 204 miles.
Back to Continentals, I agree that color makes a big difference. The Mark VI was a disappointment to me, and I've read it described as a "luxury brick". That's okay, though, because Lincoln redeemed itself with the remarkably beautiful Mark VII and Mark VIII!
Hi Hardly that! LOLOL I haven't rode my bicycle since last summer!
I went from Arverne (far Rockaway Queens) all the way to the west end of the Rockaway Pennisula, over the Marine Park Bridge into Brooklyn then road to Sheepshead Bay and back. I think it was about 25-30 miles round trip. Not bad considering I didn't have to ever stop to catch my breath and I don't exercise at all. I AM, however, a very active person and am constantly moving around doing something which keeps me slim and fit!
Back to cars... I am happy to hear that Lincoln is moving forward and hopefully will offer us some stylish and beautiful cars agaon!
I am sure you've heard me mention in prior post that I own a 1970 Mark III and a 1997 Mark VIII LSC. Both are great cars and each has its' own merrits.
