I was thinking about Marlowe's Brilliant video translation and...

Now I need to ask, I bet not a single member here grew up never having at least one Tonka truck - right? (:-)

Well I did, and I wish that I had kept them. As a teenager, I sold them at a family garage sale for next to nothing.

Ha! Your words are too kind! I did have one Tonka. My truck collection was dominated...

... with Buddy L and Nylint pressed steel trucks. I had a bazillion of 'em.

Here's my Tonka. I still have it.

Yes I had several of the Buddy L & Nylint trucks too. Foolishly they are gone as well.

I loved my Tonka trucks! Anyone have 'Fighting Matilda'? Or Kenner bridge and turnpike building set?

Beward, gentlemen, you are approaching the nostalgic viewpoint that leads to becoming an old toy collector. (And it's fun!)

Concentration of certain decades depends most often upon the age of the collector. Enjoy! (And check out your Tonka toys on eBay.)

PICS - I have a Kenner Bridge and Turnpike set now. Here's a little civil engineering fun.

I had one as a kid. I bought this one on eBay.

I don't have that one but I replaced it with another Lionel train that I set up...

... during Christmas.

Nice 'building' Marlowe! That set looks to be in new condition. I had hundreds of hours of fun.

OMG, I forgot that I had that set growing up! Memories! Also had a bevy of

Tonka and Buddy L trucks (also Johnny Express). Man, I wish I still had those trucks. Had the original Texaco tanker, too.

Thanks for the nostalgia journey, Marlowe. BTW, great video of you back in the late 50's. What a cute kid...

PICS - Here's another Tonka. However, I never had this one as a kid. I few years ago...

... I picked this one up at a garage sale.
