This 1954 Corvette 'Proposal Car" would be a cool addition to your collection. This car labeled S.O. 2151 was a proposal for the 1955 production Vette. Among its styling cues was acute hood scoop fender gills (to appear the the C2 Stingrays) and a deck lid. Like most of the Motorama concepts at that time, it was briefly shown and then either destroyed or reworked for another project. However, SO 2151 slipped through the cracks and wound up in California (where else?). It ultimately was found again and lovingly restored. Unlike the production '55's V8, this car still had a dual carb Blue Flame 6.

Yes, that would have been a great subject for DM to do.  Wonder if it was ever on Rick's radar?

It is a great-looking  show car Corvette and it is excellent that it has been found and restored. The real car must have an interesting story.

I absolutely love the color combo. I don't care for the exaggerated trunk design. Not big on the fender vents on the C1. The hood scoop looks, just in my personal opinion, too auspicious for a 6 cylinder car. But other than that - well - you have the standard car that debuted as a '55.

But as the rarity that it is, fully restored to concept specs - holy smokes, what a find!!

Rich, thanks for the story and photos.  That would have been one great looking model, and yes it is a shame DM did not build one.  For me Tony, the hood scoop and the modified trunk lid is what I like most about the car.  Again to me anything, that would make a vehicle stand alone compared to everything else, is something to look at and appreciate.
