The 1949 Rocket 88. I remember as a little kid Olds was the sponsor of "Douglas Edwards and the News". I was fascinated by the globe logo with the rocket orbiting it.
What I liked about this Danbury Mint Oldsmobile is that it wasn't the usual hardtop or convertible. It was a basic 2-door sedan. Sort of the average guys car. Back in the day, we certainly saw more of these low-end cars than we did the flashy high-end machines. This really is one of Danbury's best.

My very 1st car as an 18 yr old kid in 1962.though mine was light over dark blue.
loved the way when i really got on’er she raised straight up on all 4 wheels cuz of the coil springs on all 4 corners 😂 wonderful 1st car for a young man!!☺️☺️☺️👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
