Is anyone else annoyed because Mint Models doesn't double-box?

I just got the maroon '60 Corvette. Nice car; I don't much care about the erroneous "fuel injected" stickers. But I'm a bit annoyed that they just slapped a FedEx label on the FM outer box. Needless to say, the box arrived dirty and with one corner dented. So, of course, the inner box is dented, too. (The car is fine.) Is it too much to ask to put the FM box into a shipping box with some pellets? DM has this down to a science. Or maybe I just need to chill . . . .

Dan I am not 100% sure but I requested that Mine get doubled boxed and Michelle.....

Has ALWAYS done so! I'll go a step further and say that she even helped me out in a situation where should could have easily told me to "Take a HIKE" Great lady and a good business woman! I'm sure that if you call her she will try to make things right. Perhaps she can send you a box from a reject or something. ALso, ask her and she will make a note of the double boxing and do so in the future! Michelles top notch in my 1:24th Book Smile

I've always gotten my cars double-boxed from Mint Models

When I talked to Michelle on the phone, she said that some customers request double-boxed shipment and asked if I'd prefer that as well. I replied that I would and since then, all of my shipments have been double-boxed.

Just got mine a few minutes ago.

Right after reading your comments, Dan. Fortunately mine is undamaged, but I think a call to Michelle about double-boxing is in order!

Double Boxing

The first car I received from Mint Models was not double boxed. I called Michelle and all subsequent models have been double boxed. I was told they will double box anything you order if you request it. It would have been nice to know that in advance.Mint Models is still a great place ot buy diecast.

I would like the same from West Coast, as ..I had a delivery, and the model was a bit " shook up ". Had to re-set the seat back, 4 eg.. Was sent from the west coast to the eastcoast of Canada/ Halifax,N.S. Guess I'll request dbl. boxing next time.

Same here. I always received double box from Michelle/Mint Models.

It doesn't matter who I deal with. I always ask double box. If they can't do it then I go somewhere else.

OK, thanks. I'll know to ask next time . . .

. . . but I still think it shouldn't be necessary to make a special request. What if I don't remember (which has been known to happen)? DM surely doesn't need to be asked, or Bob Ames, Bob White, etc.

You're right Dan. Double box shipping should be a given, especially from a dealer.

You shouldn't have to ask.

How does one know to request "double boxing"...???

Do they ship single box to new customers, until they complain?

Andre, I would request double box regardless any practice they have.

I always request double box, even from private sellers. I take my business somewhere else if they can't do it. Always make sure your seller double boxes your diecasts. Keep it as a practice to always ask this.
