Always Happy to Double Box
We are always happy to double box the models for you.
Please understand that The Franklin Mint shipping box is called the "Outer Mailer" at The Franklin Mint. That is the only way that you could receive a Franklin Mint model for many years. We then opened the retail stores, and also began selling to independent retailers. A great majority of our collectors when asked, actually tell us that they prefer shipping the model in the Franklin Mint Outer Mailer because that is what they were always used to. I will note everyone's comments here, and make sure to double box for you all in the future. As usual, thanks for the kind words Martin, Phil, Ryan, Joseph - etc. The relationships with great collectors like yourselves is what makes taking care of you such a pleasure. Thanks, Michelle
Answer to Dan's question: "Is it too much to ask to put the FM box into a shipping box" No Dan, it is not, please just ask, and we will gladly double box!
Every order that I received from Mint Models have never been double boxed
The most recent, the end of the box was completely ripped off during delivery. Double boxed should be standard, and anytime I sell a model it is double boxed. So I guess from now on I will request it.
My orders in the past of Mint Models' exclusives have been...
shipped double boxed and arrive in perfect condition.
I do think FM should stiffen up its outer white box. Back around 1991 when I started collecting FM...these outer white boxes were sturdier and always arrived perfect.
It may be just me but I think FEDEX and UPS used to handle packages better. Now its hit or miss.
Mostly hit.
