By 1971, the refinement of the Porsche 917L led to this 917LH designed strictly for the Le Mans circuit where its long tailed design allowed an awesome 240mph on the Mulsanne Straight. Three were built and two were raced by John Wyer Automotive Race team in Gulf livery and one by the Martini Team. The #18 car had pole position but all 3 dropped out with about 6 hours to go. This #17 car was driven by Jo Siffert and Derek Bell who dropped out with transmission failure after 240 laps.

@geno Wild is the best way to describe this car and model. If I collected race car models, this one would be a must have.
