The 1969 Mustang Boss 302 was a purpose built and homologated for the Trans Am circuit. Its 302 V8 was rated at 290 HP with the actual output being between 375 and 400 HP. The body was made a bit sleeker by omitting Mustang's signature side scoops. The 1628 that were built had a track tuned suspension, heavy duty cooling and front disc brakes. The Boss 302 came in only 4 colors with matte black hood and hockey stick graphics. The car only came with a 4 speed manual. The Winsor block was topped with 351 Cleveland head a high rise aluminum manifold and a Holley 4 bbl.. It only came with the fastback roofline and chin spoiler as well as Magnum 500 wheels with fat Goodyear Polyglas tires. The rear louvers and adjustable spoiler were optional. This Franklin Mint model is finished in Calypso Coral. My only gripe is the very obtrusive dog leg door hinges that extend quite a ways into the cockpit.

Thnx Rich, that is one of my all-time favorite Mustangs and color. My youngest brother still has his ‘70 Mach1 in that color. He got it in ‘85.

I wanted to get the blue one but I had to settle for the black Boss 429.
