In 1936, the Auto Union AG conglomerate produced this little two seater Wanderer powered by an 85hp inline 4 compressor sports car. It was produced until 1938 and only a handful exist today. CMC's cute little model replicates the first year of production as there were minor face-lifts over the following 2 years. In 1938, the Wanderer got a streamlined body to go with a beefier Porsche designed 6 cylinder as the Wanderer Stromlinie Speziale. 3 were built and were raced in '38 and '39. I would love to have a model of this one. A few years back, Audi recreated this car for some anniversary.
One I never bought. I was fearful that this would 'play' in my head every time I looked at it:
YO! It's Dion DiMucci from da Bronx. Doo-wap-doo-wap!!!
CMC when they were still doing 1/24 scale models. Rich your pictures are hard to tell from the 1/1.
@perrone1 yep I started singing it too seeing Rich's title! OMG released November 1961! I was 11! Made no 1 here in Australia.

Bob is so right, car looks like a 1:1, especially in that light. Interesting how on all models the headlights seem to have a 'searchlight' stance.
