I was born in 1951 and my first recollection of cars was when I was around 4 and 5 years old.  Many of them I saw on the streets in our neighborhood were early Forties and Fifties models and likely this is the reason that when I started to collect old cars, it were the memories of these big and bulky machines that caught my eye.  So I've always focused on 1940 to 1970 model years.  In the later Fifties some of these old sleds were customized and transformed  in to what my Dad told me were "Hot Rod's".  When this Brochure from DANBURY MINT arrived in my mail box, I was that little boy again and adding these models and many others from this bygone era were primary to reliving my youth.  Each model sends me back to those "thrilling days of yesteryear".

Those classic '40's 1:1 cars turned out some pretty classic scale models for DM!

Never be ashamed of your addiction Bob.  It's safe and legal.  Smile
