This is one impressive brochure!  It all but puts the model in your hands and certainly delivers the message that this a "Must Have" model.  But no matter how impressive the brochure is, it doesn't come close be being as impressive (in my opinion) as the actual model is.  The model is beyond description finely replicated and a definitive work of fine art.

I've mentioned in previous posts that for a short time I worked (just for the fun of it) at the Franklin Mint store that was in the Mall of America in Bloomington, Minnesota back in the 1990's. This '49 BUICK ROADMASTER RIVIERA when it arrived at the store was literally hopping off the shelves in to customers hands, it was that popular.

When the initial shipment of the car came in to the store, I immediately put one aside for myself, and I remember when I unpacked it at home later that evening, it seemed even more beautiful than the display model was at the store.  I remember staring at it for along time.

Later Franklin Mint released a repaint of this Hardtop and also 3 Convertible versions, I have all of them, but this Blue/Gray version is my favorite of the lot.  And I'm not sure why, but as models go, this baby is seemingly heavier than most other 1:24's.

If you're an old Buick lover, you'll want this model and if your just a lover of old cars, this is one model you need to have in your collection.

It is the best of FMs '49 Buick models. The color just works perfectly on this one. I too picked this model up in the FM store, what a great place that was.

Nice one George.
