Opening the mailbox and pulling out an envelope from one of the mints back in the day, always meant I was going to be on the phone in just a few minutes. Along with normal bills like the electric, water, garbage, or a credit card or two, a potential bill from one of the mints was one I always smiled at getting. It was a potential bill because chances were the Brochure inside the mint envelope was another exciting car that my life couldn't be complete with not having. Such was the case with the one below!
Danbury Mint's 1955 CHEVROLET NOMAD
Some REAL '55 CHEVROLET FACTS:
It was a revolutionary new engine and down-right handsome new styling that put Chevrolet back at the top in 1955. In a record Detroit year, Chevrolet let the industry with over 1.7 million cars, a new marque high and a quarter-million more cars than rival Ford. Rarest of the regular line-up of '55 Chevy's was the stylish NOMAD two-door wagon. Rare because only 7,886 were built.

Love this model and the Coral/Gray combo as well.
This is a great model, but to me the best Nomad is the 57. Even though I like the 55 Sedan the best out of the 3.
I love your posts George. This is one of those that I received as part of the Preview Society long before the brochure came out. Perfect colors.
