Opening the envelope and seeing this Brochure from Danbury Mint jump-started my heart probably faster than any other Brochure I'd received from them to this point in time!  I could feel my eyes zooming from my head in cartoon animated fashion as I gazed at this remarkable looking car.  Danbury Mint was dialed up faster than a New York minute and my order was placed.  If the actual model when received, was even slightly close to how it looked in the photos, I was certain I was going to need oxygen when I  got the car.

I wasn't disappointed when it arrived!  As many adjectives as I could think of to describe the outstanding beauty and workmanship of this model there would not be enough of them to relate how perfect this model is.  Danbury Mint simply shrunk the REAL car and put it in a box for us collectors.  If you've got this model, you know what I mean.  And if you don't have it, well shame on you.  You can't be an old car lover and a 1:24 scale collector and not have this car on your shelf.  It has to rank as one of DM's finest replica's.

George:  I thought this color was fantastic on the Lincoln.  My parent's bought their first Lincoln in 1970 with the MK III, then got a 74, MK IV, and then a 78 MK V.  I got my first Lincoln with a brand new 1985 VII, and my second MK VII in 1992 which was a Bill Blass Edition in the rare Dark Green Jewel Metallic paint.  It's shame,  I traded it for a Cadillac STS, which I enjoyed as well.  But if I would have kept the 92, I don't know what it would be worth today.  Oh well.  Hind sight is 20/20. LOL

When I was 16 in 1956, a girl I dated  father bought this identical car. His office was directly across the street from the drug store where I worked. Knowing what a car freak I was, he came over to the drug store and invited me to come over to look at the car which he had just picked up from the dealer. It was a slow day so my boss gave me permission to go see this beautiful boat. Standing behind this car with the top down the car looked two blocks long.

Receiving this brochure was like a note from heaven for me. My only regret was that the father had passed away years before the model came out as he would have loved to know this car was modelled in the Wisteria color. Today, I have this model, a 1/18 scale and a 1/43 scale model in this color.

@bob-jackman, great story and memory.  I enjoy these types of personal car experiences.

@bob-jackman  Bob; IMO this wisteria color is the epitome of flashy car colors of the 1950s.  For visual impact it is as good as it gets.  Now that doesn't mean I would ever actually want to own a car this color; it's too flash & shocking for conservative me.  I think I would tire of it in my driveway every day.  It's very cool though; especially on a '56 Lincoln.

Jack, I would take a 56 Premier in any color but the Wisteria would be my number one choice followed by Coral.

Jack, I would never tire of the Wisteria Lincoln in my driveway.  The '56 Lincoln and the '56 Cadillac are my forever choice for most beautifully styled cars of the Fifties.

@al_dorado, I liked the '58 Lincoln because it was totally new and different.  That doesn't mean I thought it was a good looking car.  That said though, I'd have loved to have had one in 1:24 scale.  The '59 and '60's would have been okay in 1:24 scale as well.

Somehow I missed this post. I love this model, such an awesome color. but I love all of the DM '56 Lincolns. I had hoped for more of them, but it didn't happen. I would have liked to have a convertible in turquoise and/or white.

Miss a few hours on the Forum and you miss good stuff.  I've learned that a few times already.  Smile
