Lemon Zester! I LIKE it! And, although it may be pushing the envelope here, if you like ONE yellow Vette, who knows, you might like another.

If I'm not mistaken, those trunk lid spears were a '58 only feature.

I thought I was mistaken once. Turned out, I was wrong. 😆

John S. you are correct. I was 18 when the 58 Vette came out and many people voiced their dissatisfaction over the chrome deck lid bars and the wash board treatment on the hood as being too much gingerbread and ruining the looks of the car. Like the criticism of the 63 split window blocking the rear vision, both have become iconic for the very reasons they were once criticized.

Yes, the washboard hood AND trunk spears were one year only. They went away in 59.

Yes sir. And....not unlike the '63 Split-Window Coupe. Made for one year; people complained about the incomplete rear view and it was gone by the '64 and subsequent models.

I've done a lot of Corvette research over the years, but can't remember some of the features that were unique to one year. In the early-to-mid '60s, there was a company who made a rear window conversion kit to change the '63 split window into the full window of the '64. I'll be anyone who did that is kicking themselves now!

Yep! Even the '63 Grand Sports had the split window modified.
