Been a long long wait for one of these. First spotted it about 20 years ago on the old site. During my really early formative years of car appreciation, 5, 6 years old, I spotted pics of a few of these racing in here Australia. I'd reckon this car and a few others, 55, 56 Ford Customline for one, set the tone for the next near 70 years! I just recall liking its aggressive beauty.
Looking out for one over the next 20 years I spotted maybe 4, 5 LM Miniatures 1/24s for sale. I'd since bought a 1/18 and 1/43. The LM Miniatures were always excessively priced. A few months back Lu alerted me to this one on the local ebay, again set very expensive. After 3 or 4 months it did come down a bit in price, still above what I would normally pay but I'm thinking I may never get another opportunity to own one. So here it is, and it has pretty much live up to my expectations. Of course, and naturally I knew this, sadly a curbside model.
First, a hearty CONGRATULATIONS!! I love those old '50's Jags, Type C and D; maybe as long as you have! Absolutely gorgeous and well photographed. High Five Geoff!
Geoff, that being a curbside takes absolutely nothing away from the model. It's stunning. I have several, if they look right, that's what counts. If I'd let that hold me back I'd missed out on a lot of nice models. Look how pricey Automodello's models are. They're all curbside, and out of my price range, lol. Not to take anything away from them, they're beautifully done, just too pricey for me . That's why I was overjoyed to find the Salvat/Hachette/Ixo/Whitebox/Atlas branded curbside models. Very well done and at a reasonable price. 🙂 👍

Same here Tony; my love for this car started with my Matchbox and Dinky Toys as a youngster. This model is a beauty!
I have a few of those LMs... an early 60s Ferrari a '70s Porsche anf the Mazda F1, but I haven't seen this Jag. It looks great!
Great buy Geoff. I especially like the cockpit interior on this 1955 Le Mans winner, especially the seat.
thanks gentlemen, comments really appreciated. Adding a quality rare piece is such a great part of collecting.
And a big shout out to Lu for alerting me to it. Thank you.
@geoff-jowett Yes it is Geoff. I love it when I find those hard to get models. 👍 😊
