Roy Orbison was one of my favorite singers of all time.

@bob-jackman

Hell yes, mine too !!!

What a voice !!

And what a heartbreaking life.

I was lucky to see him in concert once. I still get goosebumps remembering it.

I don't think I've ever heard of bad song from him what a heavenly god-given voice and he sang some of the best music ever !!

Right now I can't even think of anybody that compares with him.

Oh sure we have Elton John we have the eagles we have Bruce Springsteen you know what's the name of you and you know I'm up there I'm almost 69 years old but when I first heard Roy singing when I was 9 or 10 years old I was smitten it's like Jesus this guy is good just like Peggy Lee what a voice she had wouldn't that be something to hear Peggy and Roy do a duet man that would be awesome I'll bet.

I guess almost everybody remembers Roy s singing pretty woman but there are so many other songs that he sang that are just so much better and more awesome to hear thanks for posting that video.

How many people here have seen the 'concert in black and white' with all the famous musicians along with Roy I suggest you try and watch it

Wow Ford !!!.....it`s nearly impossible to get Roy Orbison covered in just a single reply innit?.......his unique and unmistakable voice is justifiably compared to Patsy Cline or,as you say Peggy Lee (perpetually introduced as MISS Peggy Lee)

I did see "Black and White" sometime back and was taken by surprise that I hadn`t been previously aware of it.... 👍 👍 👍 👍 👍

He put on one of the best shows I have ever seen live. It was Billy Bob's in Ft. Worth when I lived there. It was supposed to be an hour show but the crowd loved him so demonstrably that he played until after midnight, more than two hours! It was December 12th 1988, very close to one year before he died on December 6 1988.

They were going to go with that JB but the cold climate indicated that a title of Shrinkage would be more accurate.  The players involved recoiled at this and turned turtle on the whole idea....

The Canadian version of that same series pilot included a couple of alleged actual aliens hired to do the testing.  I recall it was called Uranus Sitters...which offended the easily confused Canadian viewing audience.  It was cancelled after 13 weeks....a real shame.  It was sponsored by Lucky Lager Beer and Preparation H.
