Brian REALLY wanted to build that one, as I'm sure you know so well George. He needed the capital to do so and was disappointed by the whole scenario you chronicle here. That would have been an incredible model!
I feel his disappointment every time I think about it. I wanted the '57 Oldsmobile more than any other 1:24 diecast. I told Brian when he and I talked that if he made 10, 15, or however many different color combo's, I would buy one of each. LOL, I even gave him my CC info.
And of course it's not just the fact that Brian was unable to fulfill this model dream, it was the entire collapse of the 1:24 market that we've all lamented over many times since the fallout. But alas, the sun still comes up in the east every morning, so in the scheme of it things, all is well.

George, you weren't the only one who was disappointed about the 57 Olds model. I was also disappointed that the 63 Thunderbird, which was slated to be made, was also a victim of the situation in China.

I feel your pain Mr. Jackman. Hard to believe that this year it's 10 years already since the mints quit producing 1:24 diecast. There was still much for them to give us!

Hello fellow collectors,
I've salvaged the original DM catalog from archived copy of old Diecast Zone site, posting it here.
Maybe it's already here, if it is, just let me know, I will remove my post then.
The links in the html version are working links to the archive copy, complete with photos.
Give the html several minutes to load completely.
P.S. The html file is zipped as attaching html directly is not allowed here.
OUTSTANDING! I made a note and link, to this post, on the thread's first post to lead to this new resource. MANY thanks!!
@carcass1996 - Are you saying the links to the reviews are active? If so, I tried accessing and could not. I'm wondering if I'm doing something wrong.
