It's actually the only pink model I own. It just seemed right on this '57 Thunderbird. The last of the "Baby Birds", it's also my favorite. I always loved that generation as a kid and I remember the following year being horrified at the Square Birds. I couldn't believe what that cute little two-seater had morphed into. It was a sacrilege in my mind. I guess I was in the minority, as they sold like hot cakes that year. I guess the new model was more 'family friendly'. Anyway, the base Y-block V8 was now 290 cid, but the performance options offered a further bumped up "Thunderbird 312" E code that could have 2X4bbl carburetors and even a supercharged 300 hp F-code that came with a 3 speed with overdrive. I never understood why Corvette was the "Great American Sports Car" when the T-Bird had such potency. DM's T-Bird model is quite well done with great build quality and a high parts count. The one aspect that I don't understand is the over- textured and over-chromed dash which lights up like a Christmas tree. Along with the pics of DM's dash, I've a pic of an E-code dash to show the difference.
have it and love it. Agree a beautiful car. However would have preferred another color. Its just 'too pink' for me. Thanks Rich
