In 1951, Hudson revamped the Hornet, refining their "step down" chassis that enhanced both handling and ride quality that allowed 6 passengers a luxurious ride and with its low center of gravity gave it a significant edge on the NASCAR circuit even with its 6 cylinder engine. The new H145 Six was a bored out version of the old Commodore 262 cid giving the motor 308 cubes. By 1952, an optional "Twin H-Power" could be had consisting of two 1 bbl carburetors that brought performance to 170 hp and a substantial 245 lb-ft of torque. Hudson made a lot of performance parts for those interested in racing. Besides a crude 'ram air' system to the carbs, other performance parts to the engine saw the power increase over the next few years to 210 hp keeping the Hudson more than competitive with its V8 powered competition. Marshall Teague's prepped Hornet reached 115 mph.

This is Franklin Mint's replica of a fully optioned Hornet built for the D4C in a beautiful tutone blue. It seems to be listed as a '51, but the dual carb setup was an option starting in 1952 from what I've read.

Rich,  Not sure about the timeline of the "Twin H" option, however this FM body is a '51.

Subtle differences between '51 and '52 styling ,include revised front parking lights which had rounded edge in '52 and revised taillamp also.

I believe all other styling was identical.
