Many, many years ago I purchased this AMT Mack DM 600-kit and I built it as I saw fit.
But for some obscure reason I then decided to partially tear it down and put it in a box.
Quite recently I rediscovered it and I rebuilt it.
Many parts were still there, but some were lost in time, so I had to improvise.
Back then I painted it the Roadway-version, well at least to some extent.
Checking the Internet, I found out that almost all Roadway-trucks have no chrome at all and a darker blue for the hood and the tanks.
So, for a short time I wanted to repaint the model, but then I would destroy the energy that I put in it way back then.
Does that sound strange to you ?
Anyway, this is a model of a very special truck, with it oddball off-set cab it could work within the city-limits.
Check them out on the internet as these were true workinghorses, taking a real beating each day.
Attached are pictures of my model and a real one.
Joop, you did a beautiful job building it and I would leave it exactly the way you originally built it. I remember these offset cabs very well.
thanks, guys really appreciated.
Joop a great model. I have a number of trucks to build one of these days.
Yes, I would leave it as it, it looks great. And a very cool and unique model. Thanks for sharing it with us. 💯😎
Nice looking model and photos. My Dad built a lot of truck models. When he passed away, my youngest brother wanted them. He has them displayed in his place.
