The 1969 to 1971 Lincoln Continental Mark lll. This was the last series with real horsepower from its 460 cid V8. By the time it evolved to the MK V (the last of the land yachts), it was down to about 190 HP and about 6 miles to the gallon. (I owned a Mk V)

Mklll Group 001
Mklll Group 004
Mklll rear group 014
1 Mklll rear group 015

These are very nice.  I especially like the white one.  I'm assuming these are Automodello.

I agree with Al, there's something about the white model that really catches my eye.

@galen55 Well, the white would certainly display well with the white LEs of the Mkll and the '61 CV.

Nice pictures Rich. I still own a 1/1 Mark V. I live in a state that has no emissions testing so I had the clogged catalytic converters removed and the cars performance came alive and the fuel mileage is now a resounding 10 MPG.

Rich, thanks for sharing.  Sometimes I wish I had gotten this model as my mom had a 70 Mk III.  I thought I was cool driving around in it when I was 14.  I didn't buy this one, mainly because it is resin and I thought very expensive for a static model.

@bob-jackman  My Mark V NEVER passed emissions. One of my patients owned a gas station with an inspection license, so.... Mine was black with Dove Gray interior and opera top. QC was so bad in those years, my car came with a void in the paint the size of a soft ball in the middle of the hood.... and no one noticed?

I have the turquoise one.  It's a piece of junk.  Wish I hadn't bought it.  I love the 1:1 but the model leaves much to be desired.

Just to add to my story.  Mom had a 70 MK III, I want to say a 74 MK IV, then a MK V, but I do not remember the year.  I think a 75.  That was the last of the MK's that she had, she shifted to Cadillac's then as she did not like the MK VI.  On the other hand I got my first Lincoln in 85, with a MK VII Bill Blass Edition.  What an enjoyable ride that was.  Almost sorry that I still do not have it.

My father-in-law had a really nice '69 MK. III in dark green metallic for many years and I loved driving it.  When he bought a MK. VII he offered it to me for $2500 and I PASSED.......it was in perfect condition......a big regret now!

These are some of my favorite models from Automodello. I have four of them. While I like them a lot, they have not held up as well as one would hope.

I have trim that is rippled and in some places, coming off and they're not the only ones from Automodello doing that. It is unfortunate, and that has kept me from considering any others like the new Allante.

John, I'm sorry to hear about your bad luck with your Automodello models. I have the model in brown metallic and dark red and have not had any problems with either. I recently picked up the red Allante  and it looks good so far. What colors do you have in the Mark III?
