Let us harken back once more to those early "Me Too" years when DM was furiously trying to out sell (obviously not 'outdo') or at least ride FM's coat tails. I think DM may have had a mole inside FM's old HQ in Wawa, Pennsylvania because some of these shadow models were released within days of the FM models. Here's FM's 1928 Stutz Blackhawk Boat tailed Speedster. It was a reasonably well done for the late '90s. One cue, the second set of pics show DM's 1927 Stutz boat tail which sold for $10 less. The left rear 3/4 view of the model shows the shoddy finish that was under shot and orange peeled.

Great pics Pal; and fond memories of long-time D4C member Ed Stutz!

Have had both for a very long time. Your pictures and explanation bring out the differences in the models quite well. Being that the models are displayed in acrylic cases minimizes those differences.
