The mid-fifties was the golden era of multi-colored exteriors with tutones and even three tones available on some models. This 1956 DeSoto Fireflite Sportsman V8 sports a quite lovely deep maroon with lavender roof and side accents, but it's the interior trim and upholstery that baffles me. It's multiple color pallet is wildly different; literally clashing with the exterior. It wouldn't have raised an eyebrow during that era, but in the age of basically monotone variations of hues, it now seems quite shocking.
Beautiful model and one I'm fortunate to have. However, I've never paid attention to the interior. Thanks for the detailed photos, Rich!
Always loved that model - LOVE your pics bud!!
Rich as usual great photos. I am fortunate to have this one and the convertible.
Have all of the DM 56 DeSotos including the Indy Pace Car.
