Need a little help from fellow members concerning DM Divco Borden's Milk Truck
Could someone post some detailed pics of the back door handle? I won a truck on our auction that had the handle missing. The seller has found and sent me what looks like the correct handle, but I'm not sure how it is supposed to be attached. I checked the photos on the List & Reviews, but I'm not clear as to the correct placement. If you could do some close ups from left, right sides, and straight from the rear it would be appreciated, Thanks in advance for any help!
It's a symmetrical "T" handle mounted vertically [PIC]

Handle
Hi Richard! I Think that picture is one of the ones on the List and Reviews list? I checked all of those out. Do you have this model? If so, is the handle flat on one side? Looking at it from the back, the handle is vertical, is it flat on the right or left side? I think I have only one half of the handle, Does it have a seam running up and down? If you have the model could you post a pic of it very close up? Thanks for any help, and if others have any information.
More pics in a few....... Pics of mine......
Mine looks a little flat on the left side but seems to be complete.... It also has a convex V shape on the surface of the handle.....
Here's the closeup pictures, but......
from your questions, I'm wondering if you have the right handle.
I included a picture with a millimeter ruler next to it

The handle on my Divco truck is also running vertical. Gotta run, have dairy products to deliver
if you need that handle i may have one for you just let me know.
? Correct handle
Richard; Thanks for the close ups. That answers my question. I only have one half of the handle. It is made in two parts. I can see the seam in the pictures. Thanks for your help. I really enjoy all of your posts and pictures. I have not posted here for a long time. I have lost a lot interest in the hobby because of all the repaints. At one time I had all but 3 of the
Franklin Mint models issued. but a few years ago, FM flooded the market with all of the repaints. Took the fun out of trying to get all of the rare models, for me anyway. I now only collect just the ones that I realy like, or that bring back old memories. Thanks again for all of your help! I called the DM, and they no longer have this issue, or parts. I see below that another member may have the handle, so I will contact him.
Handle Pic

Milk deliveries
Thanks Jerry, Please don't rattle the bottles! :))
Okay John! I just take the tops off and scoop out the cream on the top
Is anyone else as old as I, and remembers that about milk bottles that were delivered in the 40's & 50's?
You're more than welcome, John....
I hope score a good replacement handle. That Borden's DIVCO is such a great little model.
Oh yea! I remember the milk deliveries and the bottles sitting on the front porch...
Don't remember this but my dad owned a milk station at one time in Rockford, IL. about 1946-49.....
John, I believe that the handle is one piece..... What you see is probably the casting mold seam or where the mold is split in half in order to remove the pieces..... Look again at the piece you have. If it is completely covered with chrome, then you may have a poorly molded part. If there is no chrome on one side, then you have part of a handle. I really can't believe that a piece that tiny was made in 2 pieces.... not logical...
