Nice new SUNFIRE YELLOW FM 1967 CORVETTE by Mint Models LE 750!!
MINT MODELS EXCLUSIVE FM 1967 CORVETTE CONV. LE 750
67 LE Vette
Looks Great, doesn't it!!!! Looks like another collectors special from Mint Models.........
Just ordered mine. I wonder if there will be any upgrades?
Although FM's '67 is dated, I like it in that color..
When I first attended Penn State in 1968, the Nittany Lions roared to an undefeated football season and an Orange Bowl win (and would repeat this feat in 1969). One of the stalwarts on the '68 team was defensive end Frank Spaziani, a big, handsome Italian kid from New Jersey. "Spaz", as I recall, drove a yellow Corvette just like this model, and was well known on campus for his football skills, his Vette, AND his alleged successes with the lovely PSU coeds! I believe Spaz is currently the defensive coach at Boston College. Anyhow, thats the first thing that popped into my head when I saw this model (another flash from the past!).
My fear (hope?) is that DM will eventually get around to releasing a dynamite series of '67 Vettes, which will make these older FM's look pretty lame in comparison. In the meantime, though, I just might order one of these!
Yes, that color is really tempting, it makes a nice contrast with the black lines and lettering
Ordered Mine Today
Wow! One of my favorite cars in my favorite color.....
Way to go Michelle! These C2 Corvettes are by far the
best looking and best styled of all the Corvettes ever
made. Just a few days ago I was looking at the Elkhart
Blue '67 and thinking how nice it looked and how much
nicer it would look in yellow.
Has anyone else noticed the spark plug wiring looks out of scale and....
almost the same diameter as the hose going into the top of the valve cover. Also, I thought all of these Vettes had the chrome wire shielding which appears to be missing.
BLUE STREAK TIRES
This is just one persons opinion, but I would like to say good bye to those Blue Streak tires on this model. Blackwalls, Whitewalls, or Red Lines would look much better. Anyone else have an opinion? :((
Great Color Choice
So glad that Sunfire Yellow was chosen. A '58 in Panama Yellow would be quite nice as well.
John, Goodyear Bluestreaks were my favorite tire for racing gymkhannas in the '60's.
We also tried Michelins(kinda twitchy in wet conditions) and Pirellis which let go with little warning.
The Bluesteaks were very predictable and control was amazing in a drift.
They may not look right with the blue color but most people who knew tires appreciated them.
USAF 1958-62
Chrome distributor shield was omitted on radio-delete cars...
..which this appears to be. (At least it has no rear deck-mounted antenna. Can't see the dash to know if there is a radio face sticker or a blanking plate.)
YAWN. O.K. it's another tfm repaint for $45 more. So what.? I'll wait for DM's which are due soon..
and will kick fm's B..t in detail and fit and finish. They'll undoubtedly do some COUPES too, instead of just roadsters. And all that for less money too.
To be fair....
Yellow is probably my favorite color, and I especially like this "sunfire yellow" version of the many times re-painted 67 Corvette. However the original black L-88 version sold for $90. Is the yellow one worth $45 more?? When you consider the fact that DM will soon come out with the 67 line of Corvettes in both roadster and COUPE version in various colors and engine options, why pay this exorbitant price for another, although very nice yellow, repaint. Just my opinion.
