Impressive display! And I agree, that 48 is going to fit right it. Smile Question for you,

Who made the red and black coupes to the left of the FM 51? They look pretty good in the photo.

And who put out the 59 next to the DM 58? Again, it looks great! I'm interested in that one because my very first 1.1 car at age 17 was a 59 Impala (white 2 dr. HT with red interior). Loved that car! With those fins, it was like driving the Batmobile. Smile

George, the black '51 and red '52 are both 1:25 plastic models built from AMT '51 Fleetline kits. I built the black '51 and bought the red '52 on ebay. It was already side-trimmed as a '52, but I added wheels from a '52 promo and a '52 front grille and bumper from Modelhaus.

The white '59 is a frost blue WCPD which I stripped and repainted in snowcrest white (from Maaco). The very first car I ever rode in (as an infant, home from the hospital) was Dad's white '59 4-door flattop with a blue interior, so this one is special to me.

Here's a capture of the 1:1 from a home movie...

Here's the entire display...

A row of Corvettes at the bottom, then chronological Chevys from bottom to top. The goal is to get one image from each model year. Prefer 1:24 diecast, but fill-in with 1:25 plastic kits and promos where necessary. Mostly plastic from '66 up. (A couple Paul Hettick creations in that top row -- the blue '77 Monte and brown '85 Impala!) Been hoping for a '48 for a long time!

Thanks Chet. You have a great talent to be able to make the model kit cars look so great.

Beautiful display case, Chet; my Chevy hardtop display goes from '54 through '62.
