Another DM great and love the pics. I felt this Chevrolet appeared much too similar (styling and color) to the '48 Roadmaster. So, I passed without regret.

HUH?  We're on different sides of the coin on this one.  To each their own, as the saying goes.

Sadly, this was one of the last releases by Danbury Mint.  It's one of their best!  I'd have been bummed big time if I'd missed out on it.  Your photos capture all the reasons it's such a great model Tony.  Oh I miss DM!

There's an old saying that goes something like this, "We don't know how good we have it, until we no longer have it".  With the demise of Franklin, Danbury, GMP, WCPD, and so many other Mints, that statement plays loudly in my head every day when I look at my diecast cars.

For about a 20 or so year span, we were spoiled with new releases with consistent regularity.  The fun of seeing a brochure touting another great model, the excitement of ordering it, the longing for it to arrive, receiving it, opening the box, examining the model, and then finding a home for it on my shelves.

It was an "awe feeling" that can't be understood unless you lived it.  And it's also a feeling that has since vanished and left a void for me/us.  An empty feeling now, of remembering with so much fondness a time that likely will never be duplicated.  So sad, but so glad that I lived it.

This is another fine example of DMs greatest craftmanship. Today's model and the Buick from yesterday are both amazing... I needed to get these two for a photo set a few years ago.

Great pics John.  I wouldn't sleep at night if I didn't have both of them.  They are salt and pepper, they just go together so well.

have and love em both. Gotta say though, I'm with John B here. I would have liked more of a color contrast between the 2. Thanks Tony and John M for the pics.

Both models were shown in their iconic colors at the time and DM replicated them both to a tee. Have both, love both.
