Moving some models around this morning, which I do from time to time, I spotted this '57 Chrysler (FM model) with some "bending" taking place with both doors hanging.

If there is good news in this, it's that of my six '57 Chrysler's, this color has always been my least favorite of the six.  I've got 4 FM's and 2 DM's.  There doesn't appear to be any serious "rash" on the car, but for sure it is "bending".

Wow, that's awful.  Sorry to see this, George.

I'm sorry to hear this George. This is the only Chrysler I didn't buy back in the day.

Bummer George, sorry buddy. I have 3 DM versions, no issues. My FM '57 Bonneville is the only model I've ever had any issues with. It cracked and crumbled before my very eyes. It was the original white version. I have the coral version at present. No issues with it thus far. Is it just to body, or body and chassis? I wonder if you could take it apart, open the doors and gently bend it back, check the door fit, and do that until it's straight, then put it back together? I'd give it a try anyway. I love tinkering.😊

Thanks for the suggestions Geno.  I'm not at all talented enough to start taking cars apart and attempting performing surgery on them.  LOL, that the reason I never liked model kits, I didn't want to put them together.  So when I discovered diecast models, I was in heaven.  I'm sorry to hear about your '57 Pontiac.  I have that model and it appears to be okay.  Oh, and I have the coral version one too.

Several years back, I lost a DM '59 Chevy (silver) convertible to the same fate.  It bent in half and eventually crumbled.  Then there was also FM's red/black '55 Pontiac, and this one was the worst.  The paint cracked really bad, the hood and grill was all warped and then the hood, trunk, and doors literally fell off.  Alas though, they are only little toys, so I'm not going to get sideways over them.

THANK YOU Bob.  You know a few years ago when I lost three cars to this diecast rot cancer, it bothered me a lot.  But not now.  Not that I'm not upset about it, but more so that I realize they are just toys.  If this is the worst thing not right in my world, I'm in great shape.

George, sorry to hear.  I have many of the FM & DM models but like Bob, I never got they pale blue one.  I had an issue with a FM Edsel, where the hood crumbled.  I was able to buy just the hood and then had it painted to match the car and re-installed it. So far the new hood is fine.

You are correct George. That's why I passed on a few on the secondary market that I really liked. One is the turquoise/white Royal Bobcat '69 GTO. Also, since they are toys, that's why I'll take 'em apart and work on and modify them. Blessings my friend, Geno.😊
