Packard wagon coming along!!!

Just working in the studio on the upcoming Packard and thought I would share some more pics. The woodgraining is now under different scaling tests to get it down to the right proportions for the scale of the car. Rear window handle came off while I was reviewing it.

The grille and side grille panels are now getting reworked because there is still a lot to refine in those ABS parts. Also experimenting with texture on the roof. Being that this is resin and painted, it is harder to get the clarity of small texture and not have it fill or pool in the final paint.

Yes, eagle eyed Packard people - script on the hood will be corrected to OneTwenty!! 🙂

At this stage it is easy to think of the model as done because 90% of it looks done, but as you all know, it's that last 10% that often makes all the difference in the way a model looks. photo no longer available

Jerry imagine if DM had done this!! With all the working features etc.

Not to step on anyone's toes as Automodello makes beautiful models, I have five and plan on adding more in the near future as they're released. As most here know, I'm partial to working features and all the bells n whistles

I think the birch wood graining ( I think the lighter wood is birch ) should be more like the 1942 Chrysler T & C. That is my only comment on the appearance and is a bunch better than the last set of pictures. And yes I do have one on order even though it costs we Canadians 40% more in Canadian dollars and Raffi I do trust you and cannot wait to display this with my other 24 1/24 station-wagons.

This is an image that I wanted to do while at DM.

With the success of the '36 Packard Phaeton, we might have gotten to do a Packard woody. We had a '35 Coupe in the works. I had pitched the idea of doing a woody for the 1/12 scale program. Marketing people didn't like that the controls for lights, etc. would be difficult to access.
