Great pics of a valuable model but it did nothing for me. Sold it and don't regret it.

I know that DM's '59 are not always popular. They seem to...

get a "Love it" or "Hate it" attitude. The '59 Cadillac is my favorite all time auto design. So I find I will buy one every time it comes out. Must be why I have over 30 of them in my collection in all scales. Hey, I'm obsessed.

It's funny about 59 Cadillac's for me...as the years have passed they have become uglier and uglier to my eyes. There was a time when I admired their look and styling, but as the years and collectors have raised it to icon status, they've become less and less desirable to me.

I have 9 of them in my collection, and to be honest, that is at least 8 too many. I passed on the black hardtop on this thread, and never regretted it.

All the above said, the photos presented here are beautiful and as always I'm glad they are shared for all of us to enjoy. THANKS JOHN!

I think they're over the top, but wasnt that the 50's???

So 1959 being the last year of the 50s why not go out with a BIG BANG! And so Cadillac did with those enormous tail fins and over all grandiose styling! I have to date the FM Blue Biarritz, the DM RED Series 62 convertible, the DM 59 Turquoise Coupe DeVille, and the DM Persian sand ELdorado. So aside from the black HT I have all the 59 body types offered in 1:24th, Coupe, Biarritz,Series 62 and Eldorado. I was on the fence about the Black Seville, but didnt order it and would like one BUT refuse to pay $275-$400 which is what they sell for usually!

Have this one and it is my favorite of the 59s. The black exterior against the red and white interior really pop.

Funny, that's one of the reasons I didn't like it. Against the black, the red and white interior looked too plasticy and toy like. IMHO.

I don't think all cars of the 50's were over the top. Yes, some more than others, but for sure the 59 Caddy was way out there! It is at the tip of my all-time ugliest car list from the Big Three in the 50's.

Douglas, on the black with red interior on the Caddy, you and me agree! Looks toy like.
