I do miss those wonderful prewar German beauties....
CMC had the market and left for the land of 1/18s.
John that was my FIRST CMC purchase and when I opened the box I .....
Almost dropped dead!!! It was that beautiful and exquisite that it took my breath away!
This was around 2000? I bought it then around 2006 I opened the box to have a look and again almost dropped dead, this time for a different reason. Mine and suffered not only dreaded paint rash issue, but also the Zemack degradation! It was literally falling apart, the rear axle was bowed and one wheel broken off, panels warping, paint blistering etc.. A sad sight. It looked as if it was beside the Titanic for 100+ years!! I since have replace it with one of the last new ones that CMC Rochester had in their inventory. So far so good its still ok. For those that don't have this model, it definitely is top drawer and a MUST HAVE! 10 stars. I then added the LE silver black Horch, Blue Mercedes K, brown, creme Auto Union, and the silver-green Mercedes 1958 300d. All are awesome models, each for a different reason!
