PICS...Did someone mention 1:25th scale plastic? Here's the latest scratchbuild from my friend......
Charlie Rowley. It's a replica of one of the 1932 Mack AP-6's custom built exclusively for construction of the Boulder Dam. They were henceforth known as the "Boulder Dam Macks." He took the Best Heavy Commercial award at the 2012 GranitCon model contest in Nashua, NH on 10.21.12. You might remember his 1937 Pierce-Arrow dumper seen on the right in this shot....

The big dump body held 14 cubic yards of rock, usually weighing upwards of 15 tons. These so-called "Super Bulldogs" are considered to be the benchmark for all heavy off-road trucks that followed....

This is the first time Charlie has added a figure to one of his displays. Nice touch, hey?....

Charlie custom cast the big flathead six in resin. Note the light coating of rust along the cowl where vibration would have caused the hood to wear the paint away. The 1:1 was about 600 cubic inches and made about 150 horsepower....
