PICS: My WISH LIST 1:24 die-cast car #16 1954 OLDSMOBILE

It's an Oldsmobile, so that's the primary reason I like it.
But some other reasons are that sitting in the middle of the General Motors ladder line-up it was for '54 a car that showed some of things to come. One of them being the "wrap-around windshield".

Compared to Chevy and Pontiac, the Olds appeared lower and sleeker looking and the other two were still wearing their early '50's "old man car styling".

Also for what my opinion is worth, the '54 Olds also was the beauty among all the Ford and Chrysler company offerings that year. Olds only possible rival was its sister cars from GM, the Buick and Cadillac.

In 1:24 scale die-cast this would have been a home run!

George, respectfully I think Oldsmobile design really took off in 1956

The looked to be so futuristic and sleek and trim. Same for the 1957
Loved the Starfires especially.

I agree with you Mark about the '56. But the hints were there in 1954 and 55.

I would much prefer the '56 over the '54 although the ones displayed are quite nice.

Most Oldsmobiles have excellent model potential in my view. This '54 is no exception.

I would take one in 1:24 for sure, although I have never been that fond of the 1:1.

49-57 Olds were the best IMHO and the 54 was near the top

Olds

My first was a green 52 super 88. I traded it for a 57 pink over white 57 super 88 J-2 then on to a white 59 Pontiac Catalina Tri-Power.
