Now you boys are jus' funnin'; but gosh o'mighty, y'all got it jus' 'bout rot!!
I did, actually, drive the backroads of So Florida at 13. (1960 - in mom's OLD 1960 Caddy!)
Ditto me...in the old man's '54 GMC pickup. A CADDY.....now I see the connection to the new ride Tony!
I always felt bad that in 1962 I was driving it; a white 1960 Cadillac Series 62 Convertible, and a young girl ran a stop sign and creamed the side of it. When they fixed it, mom decided to have it fully repainted a gorgeous silver. But, I guess, all these years later I returned to the scene of the crime - albeit in a Silver Coast Caddy.
@perrone1 OMG your ma trusted you at such a young age to drive a 2 year old caddy convertible?!! Sadly my folks had no such beast but even if they did have, they would NEVER have let me touch it.....and rightly so because I was an idiot. I even managed to have the cops attend my house because of driving complaints agin me in the GMC!! I denied everything of course (it was a habit by then) but the cops had the plate number so I was done like dinner. Lol.

It was actually a new car. I was working on my own car, a 1930 Model A but it wasn't running and I had a hardship license to drive mom back and forth to our tavern inside the Hialeah Race Track that she & dad owned. No cops at our house - just race jockies.
