This 1947 Bedford OB Duple-Vista Coach looks like it belongs in a Beatles animation (Magical Mystery Tour). Its yellow/orange paintjob and swooping trim enhance a body that's angled back like its approaching the speed of light. The OB series began in 1939 and went through the war years and ended in 1951. After 1947, the bus had directional lights replacing the trafficators shown here. Most models had only one door but could be ordered with two as this Sun Star model replicates. Powered by a 72 HP OHV 6, the bus was nowhere near as fast as it looks. The model with its removeable top is an absolute joy to behold. The interior replicates the wood cabinetry and colorful upholstery with tons of tiny detailing. I love its quirky British esthetics.
Very cool. I considered one of these a few years ago but never pulled the trigger. Wish I had.
