Question about the FM Metal Name Plates.....

Does anyone have a general idea when FM started shipping the metal name plates with their cars? The one glued to a dark blue FM card or in an FM dark blue envelope

Purely a guess, but believe there is a plate for the `61 Jaguar which I receved in `93 and thought there was one for the Peterbilt from `92.

I think plates were sent with all cars made after 1990.

The plates started in the mid 1990's...

prior you would order the car display with the plate pre-attached. The newer method was simply more efficient.

One would order the display with nameplate for $30.00 to $40.00 extra if one could afford it and had unlimited space.
